Verena's Gerlach lecture:
»German broken script and the design instructions of Rudolph Koch«
If the students are interested, this is a link to an interview with me about my latest typeface:
http://ilovetypography.com/2011/12/14/an-interview-with-font-designer-verena-gerlach/
I would also like to introduce my type design work to the class in a short presentation.
The plan is mostly to practical writing exercises to bring the students into the right mood.
Saturday 9.45
Martin Majoor presents
'The history of italic type in twenty-two minutes'.
For the class, students will need:
- calligraphic pens (flat pen and not too thin, as big as possible),
- pen holders,
- calligraphic ink,
- four pencils > two each soft and hard,
- a rubber band
We will provide you a A3 (PDF) with lines on to print and give to the students to do their first exercises on.
BASIC MATERIALS FOR PARTICIPANTS WILL BE PROVIDED BY WORKSHOP ORGANIZERS.
